Free Betting Picks Guideline

The first of my several tips for all your sports picks for any gambler is the need to research the teams and how they have historically matched up in recent meetings. The sharp gambler needs to be able to review how the teams have performed over the last several contests and take into consideration their recent schedule. A grueling road trip where a team is playing back-to-back games can take its toll and significantly alter a team’s level of peak performance.

It is always important to understand which players are in the starting lineup. When betting hockey, knowing which goaltender is starting is essential. It is the same for betting baseball when a starting pitcher may be a late scratch but unless you named the pitcher in your wager, you will have to hope that his replacement is up to the task. Remember, if the reason a gambler is betting on a baseball team is that its ace is on the mound then the bettor must name that ace which is insurance against the pitcher getting scratched, resulting in the bet being canceled.

Injury Reports

Teams are much more than the laundry they are wearing. Just because a team is in the first place doesn’t necessarily indicate a route over a last-place team. The seasoned sports gambler understands that injury reports are essential in determining if a team is fielding its best players. Even injuries to role players can come into play as it means that the starters must play longer and there is less quality bench available for the coach to rely on as the game progresses.

Remember, professional athletes are people and they have good and bad days just like the rest of us. Those little aches and pains can mount throughout a season and sometimes even if a player is returning from the injured reserve list; it doesn’t necessarily mean they are game-ready to compete at the level of their ability. All of these factors must be taken into consideration when determining which side or total is chosen amongst all the rest.

Points Spreads and Money Lines

Different sports are normally, though not always, bet in different ways. Football and basketball normally have point spreads associated with them. A point spread is a handicap that the better team must win by for the player to win the bet. Assume for a moment, the best team in football or basketball is playing the worst team. If there was no point spread and all things were equal then everyone would bet the better team and win most of the time. If that were the case no one would be willing to book the bet and we would all be left in a world without betting sites to take our wagers.

In order to level the playing field, oddsmakers from betting sites assign a number on the favorite that they believe will attract an equal amount of money on each side, leaving the sportsbooks to earn its money on the vigorish, or the commission they charge, which is routinely 10 percent of the wager. If you want to bet $50 on a football side or total then you must pay $55 to win $50. That is how the sportsbooks pay its bills, on the commission. The bettor determines whether the point spread is enticing enough to bet either the favorite or the underdog. If the point spread looks accurate then one of the best tips I can give you for all your sports picks is to pass the game and look for another.

In baseball, hockey, and soccer the most popular way to play is on the money line. Because the points scored in these sports are not as great as in football or baseball, betting sites will give the bettor a choice between laying more money than the bet is worth on the favorite or returning a greater sum than the value of the wager on the underdog. Assume Team A is the favorite, then the bettor may have to risk $150 to win $100. If the bettor believes Team B has a good chance of winning (again, this is even up and without a point spread) the oddsmakers may return $130 for every $100 bet. The greater the disparity between the teams the higher the money line on the favorite and the more money returned on the underdog.

Premium Sportsbooks Give You Options

Competition is what drives the market and trust us when we tell you there are plenty of betting sites competing for your gambling dollar. One of the most valuable pieces of information a player can get is where to turn when making their sports picks. Just like in any other industry there are good and bad but how to figure out which is which can be a costly, trial-by-error process. BettingFinder.com takes all the guessing right out of it as they have compiled a list of virtually all the sportsbooks on the planet with a corresponding letter grade based on customer feedback, member polls, effectiveness in handling customer disputes and ease of payouts.

Obviously, the A+ rated sportsbooks have proven themselves worthy of such a superior grade but there are also A and A- rated sportsbooks that are also deserving of your consideration (for example, we invite you to check out our Intertops review, BetOnline Review and our YouWager review). Even B rated betting sites can be viable but may not have the same ease of navigation as its higher-rated competitors. In addition, these offshore sportsbooks are not just graded. There is an explanation of why they received the letter grade that they did. There are also updates on these sportsbooks which means their grade is not etched in stone. Depending on customer feedback and any mediation BettingFinder.com has engaged in, will affect positively or negatively, its letter grade. BettingFinder wants to make sure that the only thing you’ll have to sweat is the game, not the payout.

But remember above all else, that once you have visited the premium graded sportsbooks that you can find at BettingFinder, make sure to register accounts in at least two sportsbooks if not more. Everyone needs an edge and you can compare lines at the best sportsbooks in the world, choosing the one that’s best for you. In other words, why bet the Dallas Cowboys -4 when you can find them at -3 at another top-rated sportsbook? But to be able to get the best line available, you need to have an account so spread your bankroll around and get the best bang for your gambling buck.

Everyone Needs a Second Opinion

When it comes to sports gambling we can all use a second opinion. There are dozens of games on any given day of the week and within each game is the opportunity to bet the side, the total, the proposition bets being offered and even live in-game betting. Not only is it nearly an impossible task to research all the angles for the average recreational gambler but it can be overwhelming for even the best handicappers in the world. We can go blind looking at all the matchups, historical trends, statistical models and injury reports for each game involving every scenario.

Fortunately, BettingFinder.com hires a stable of professional handicappers to do all the number crunching and legwork for you. Whether your sport of choice is the NFL, NCAAF, NBA, NCAAB, NHL, UFC, soccer or Major League Baseball we have all the opinions you will ever need. Just because you fall in love with a game doesn’t mean you can’t get a second opinion and consider the betting angles that the best in the business have to offer when making your sports picks. BettingFinder has write-ups on every major sport and analysis from the sharpest handicapping minds in the industry. And the best part is you don’t have to pay one thin dime for the information. It is all here, on one site, for your handicapping consideration.
